چکیده

Purpose of work To study the best planning techniques for post operative breast radiotherapy either F-IMRT or I-IMRT and VMAT . Another strategy is to check dosimetric difference between using 6 10 MV energies both Materials Method: In present study, four different inverse plans one forward plan randomly selected twenty left cancer patients were compared dosimetrically.Plans done on Monaco (5.1) treatment system data analyses accomplished one-way Anova test IBM SPSS (20) editor software. Results: Inverse achieve superior target coverage over (p value =0.001 ,0.07) conformity index < 0.05) maintaining adequate homogeneity = 0.461, 0.138) Left lung heart high dose levels decreased I-IMRT, ( p <0.05) at cost increasing volume irradiated by low doses 0.05 ). For contralateral increased absorbed but showed non significant increase V5 GY 0.14) .For (P ) Conclusion: It may be concluded that with achieved better increases tumor control also lower reduces acute radiation effect significantly probability late effect.

Intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) technique for left breast cancer by different numbers of beam fields

Background: Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT) can improve radiotherapy (RT) results by improving healthy tissue sparing. Additionally, IMRT provides more consistent dose deliveries and suppresses secondary tumor formation. RT is a principal treatment in breast cancer (BC). Aim: To evaluate the outcome of the Radiotherapy Plans (RTP) that use IMRT technique to left breast and other organs,...

Intensity modulated radiation therapy versus volumetric intensity modulated arc therapy

The advanced developments in external beam radiation therapy (EBRT) over the past few decades have improved dose conformity to the target while minimizing dose to the surrounding organs at risk (OAR). Intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) are two commonly used EBRT techniques to treat cancer. In sliding window (SW) or dynamic IMRT, each radiati...

Dosimetric comparison of intensity modulated and volumetric arc radiation therapy for gastric cancer

The aim of the present study was to compare radiotherapy treatment plans for gastric cancer using intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and single/double-arc volumetric modulated arc therapy (SA/DA-VMAT) delivery techniques. A total of 29 postoperative gastric cancer patients were enrolled in this study and each patient was scheduled 5-field IMRT (5F-IMRT), 7-field IMRT (7F-IMRT), SA-VMAT and...

A Dosimetric Comparison of Intensity-Modulated Proton Therapy, Volumetric-Modulated Arc Therapy, and 4π Non-Coplanar Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy for a Patient with Parameningeal Rhabdomyosarcoma

Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is the most common soft tissue sarcoma in children and manifests as two major histological subtypes: embryonal and alveolar. The five-year local failure rate for RMS at parameningeal sites (middle ear, mastoid region, nasal cavity, etc.) is around 17% despite multiple Intergroup Rhabdomyosarcoma Study Group (IRS) trials conducted to determine the optimal radiation treatme...
